The operating mode for the identity theft of Mr Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor and Mr Paul-Harry Aithnard was to offer financial assistance. To this end, a Facebook page was created in the image of the sportsman's foundation at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/fondation.d.aide.financiere.s.e.a.2001?mibextid=JRoKGi . The individual posing as Mr Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor was equipped with technology that enabled him to look like the sportsman during video call. The number used was the following from Togo + 228-97-08-23-21 . His accomplice pretended to be the account manager of Mr Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor. He introduced himself as Mr Paul-Harry Aithnard (Ecobank). He was the person to contact to receive the alleged financial support. Monetary support subject to a fee, a sum to be paid in advance in order to receive the promised sum. An overview of Mr Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor's social networking profiles shows that several profiles in his name have been created on Facebook and LinkedIn to promote the activities mentioned. Regarding the theft of Mr Ernesto Bertarelli's identity, an email was received from the address luis.ortiz@lanaranjemedia.com . The reply contact is ebertarelli0@gmail.com . Confirmation of receipt of further details of the donation offered should be sent to donations@bertarellifoundations.co . The website used for this scheme is www.bertarelli.com , a platform that links to the supposedly official website of the Bertarelli Foundation https://www.fondation-bertarelli.org/ . *** Both organizations have been notified of the inappropriate practices. The facts surrounding the cases of Mr Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor and Mr Paul-Harry Aithnard date from April 2024, and those concerning Mr Ernesto Bertarelli from July 2024. If yes, kindly share your contact details or give me a reply to proceed more by giving full details of my proposal here. Best wishes, Gen. Johanne." My response  of the same day, March 1st, 2025 "Hello Gen Johan Bruntink, Thank you for your message. I am so sorry, but I receive so much scam and attempt to do so that I am acting with a lot of discernment.... I am available here if you would like to share more information with me.  Have a blessed day.  Vanessa"  His or her answer of March 3rd, 2025 "Hello Vanessa Following the message I sent to you, Allow me to introduce myself: I am General Johan Bruntink, a retired army general originally from the Netherlands. My final service was with the US Army’s Eastern Command in South Sudan. During my tenure in South Sudan, I worked alongside high-ranking military officers to negotiate an oil deal. As part of our efforts, we were compensated, and my share amounted to 18.5 million USD and 50 kilograms of pure 22+ karat gold bars.
